Dupe for Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly Palette

I think the new Too Faced Peanut Butter and Jelly palette is so cute.  I initially thought that I would buy it.  Luckily it wasn't out yet so I had some time to think about it.  Thought it's pretty, it's very trendy.  I'm not sure I would really use it much after the newness wore off.  So off I went to the drug store to see if I could find something that would fit the intention of the Too Faced palette; browns paired with purples.  Are the colors the same?  No, but the color combo intention is the same.

I looked at every eye shadow in the drugstore.  These Revlon palettes are as close as I could find.  Both palettes have really pretty colors.  These are the 16 hour eye shadows so they should have good lasting power.  I think the fit the intention of the Too Faced palette very well.  I can't wait to play with it.
To put this into perspective, let me give you the price difference.  The Too Faced palette costs $36.  I got both of the Revlon quauds for a total of $12…

Trying New Things and Repurchasing Tried and True

I didn't want to spend $28 for four ounces of makeup setting spray.  I looked high and low and I even tried making my own.  In the end I repurchased what I knew worked best.  I bought an eight ounce bottle of Skindinavia spray at least a year ago.  I love it.  It works.  I don't use it all the time because it is another step.  On those days when I really need my makeup to look great and stay put for 12 hours, this is what I use.  So, as much as I hate to spend what I consider way too much, in the end I did and I know I won't regret it.

I live in the land of humidity.  So I'm always on the lookout for products that help to control frizz in my hair.  I found this Chi spray a couple of years ago through a recommendation of a co-worker.  So this is also a repurchase.  It's a heat protectant but I really use it because it does a great job of controlling frizz in the Florida humidity.

My all time favorite Revlon Luscious Grow mascara is nowhere to be found. I assume that…

Calvin Klein Women's Morna Flats

I have plenty of tan/nude shoes, but I just didn't have the perfect pair to wear with dresses.  So I went on the hunt and found these Calvin Klein flats on amazon.  They came in and I've worn them twice.  I love them.  I love the color.  The color is called Sahara Blush and they are a light pink/beige nude color.  It's the perfect nude color for me.  They have a cute logo buckle over the front of the shoe.  They are cushy in the footbed and are comfortable.  I've worn them all day long without going home with hurting feet.  That's important to me.  Over all I just love them.

Hair Care Products and new purchases

My all time favorite hairspray is Nexxus Comb Thru Touchable Hold Finishing Mist.  I bought it months ago and I could swear that I got it at Walmart.  Today I couldn't find it there or at my grocery store.  I love it.  I helps to fix my hair in place but doesn't give me helmet hair.

But, since I couldn't find it today I picked up Frizz Ease Keraflex Flex Hold.  The flex hold in the title is what caught my attention.  It costs the same as what I was spending on the Nexxus so I hope it works for me.  I'll check back after I've used it a few times.

I also picked another Chi Iron Guard.  It's a heat protectant and this is my second bottle of this product.  It not only protects my hair from all the heat of the blow dryer and flat iron but it controls frizz caused by the humidity here in tropical Florida weather.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Scupting Lipsticks and Double Wear Lip Liners

I am officially addicted to Estee Lauder.  The quality of the products is so excellent.  The lipsticks and lip liners have such great staying power.  They are perfect for women like me who don't have time to keep re-applying lipstick throughout the day.  This lipstick last longer than any I've tried; high end and drugstore.

I went to my local Dillards for my purchases.  Right now they are offering a gift with purchase so I split my purchase so that I got two gift sets.

As you can see in the above photo, the colors I picked in lipsticks are Intense Nude and Insatiable Ivory.  The nude color is a rosey nude and the ivory color is a light beige nude.
The Estee Lauder Double Wear colors I picked in lip liner are Mocha and rose.  Mocha is a beautiful mauve shade.  And Rose is just that.

Estee Lauder Eyeshadow Palette

I love the Estee Lauder eyeshadow palettes I bought recently on Amazon.  However, I felt that I needed some more neutral colors.  I saw this three in one palette and couldn't pass it up.  The shadows beautiful.  The quality and staying power of all the Lauder shadows is top notch.  Now I have every color imaginable.  I've gone through all my shadows and gotten rid of any that I don't really love.

Outfits With New T-Shirts

Here are two outfits using new tees that I bought on Saturday.  I love wearing these cotton blend t-shirts.  They are comfortable and casual.  With accessories they are perfect for business casual office outfits.

This striped tee came from JC Penney.  It was on clearance for $6.99.  It's a cotton blend so it will wash well and hold it's shape and color.  I have just the front tucked into my tan trousers; also from JC Penney.  It was cool this day so I wore a bright pink cardigan.  the necklace is Monet.

This is the Worthington tee that was part of my loot from JC Penney.  I wore it today with a navy drop waist skirt, navy stockings and Tommy Hilfiger flats.  The disc necklace came from Kohl's.  I bought the striped blazer last year at Walmart last year and I'm just now wearing it.  It's just too warm in Florida most of the time for any outerwear.

Make Ahead Meals

This week I'm going low carb.  My lunches are simple and all the same.

I bought two pounds of ham and divided that up into five servings.  With that I'm having brussel sprouts and beets.  All low carb.  I wasn't sure about this combo, but I had it today and it was really good.  I'm also taking carrot sticks to snack on. I scrambled up some eggs and made some pork/apple sausage patties.  I'm having this for breakfast several mornings.  I've ordered some almond flour and when that arrives from Amazon I have a recipe for low carb muffins.

For dinners I'm having home made no-bean chili.  I made it in my large crockpot on Saturday.

Retail Therapy

One of my new year's resolutions has now officially been broken.  Well, I did make it one whole month.

Ok, enough of that.  I haven't given up.  There were a lot more that I could have bought that I put back.  I went with a plan and a list and that's pretty much what I came home with.

I was looking for some cotton blend t-shirts and I got some really cute ones and on clearance.  I also wanted to look in the fashion jewelry section of JC Penney where they carry Monet.  I love the brand.  I've been wearing it since I was a teen.   And I needed to get some miscellaneous items at Walmart.  I got everything on my list

Here's what I got at JC Penney:

Tees and jewelry; what combo.  Actually I have a strategy.  I have lots of these cotton blend t-shirts.  The blend helps them keep their shape and color.  Paired with a cute skirt of trousers and some pretty jewelry makes the perfect business casual outfit.

I love this primary green color.  I'm wearing it next week wi…
