Elta MD Skincare Tinted Sunscreen

I'm wearing the Elta tinted sunscreen with a dusting of powder over it.  I like to wear just sunscreen on the weekends to give my face a break from foundation that I wear to work during the week.  This is the best I've found and the closest to wearing makeup but not.   The tint is very slight but there's something in the formula that makes my skintone look more even.  There is a bit of a white cast, which is expected with a high spf sunscreen.  I put a powder over it so that's not an issue.  The powder I have on in the photo is Maybelline Instant Age Rewind in the color Creamy Natural.  I've tried using it under my foundation and it doesn't play well with liquids over it, but powders look great.

Grocery Haul 6/18/16 - Tweeking My Diet

Maybe I'm going to "tweek" my diet every week; I don't know.  This week I paid special attention to sugar.  So, now I'm paying attention to sugar, protein, fat.  My ideal foods are high in protein and low in fat and sugar.  I didn't buy much this time because we still have stuff left from last week.  I still have fresh fruit in my fridge.  So, I'll probably have to go mid week to get fruit.

One - these protein bars are high in protein and have only 1 gram of sugar.  I had one for breakfast this morning (peanut butter).  It was very good; perfect for a breakfast on the go.  It was so dense I couldn't eat the whole thing.  These will be great on mornings when I'm not ready to eat early in the morning before work.  I will use these as a meal replacement.  They have too many calories (220) to eat as a snack.
Mello Yello Zero - this is my no calorie drink of the moment.  I also like Diet Dr. Pepper and Diet Root Beer.

Weekend Shopping - What I Bought

This shopping spree was all about underwear.  One of the effects of menopause is raised body temperature.  I'm hot all the time.  I sleep in just a bra and panties and I still throw the covers off.  So I was just shopping for panties and bras I can sleep in.

Maidenform Sweet Nothings - these panties are great.  The lace that you see in the photo is on the back.  They are ruched on the center back.  They are pretty and perfect for sleepwear.
Hanes Comfort Flex Fit Bandini.  These are perfect for sleepwear.  They are light and soft and feel like wearing nothing; perfect.
Vassarette Spin Tank.  I wear these to work under my tops.  They are lightweight and give just enough smoothing.  I have developed a menopause belly that these help me not look like I'm six months pregnant at age 52.  I especially like this brand because they are scoop neck on one side and V-neck on the other; very versatile.
Hanes Comfort Flex Fit Bra - I've already got some of these.  I like them so much…

Grocery Shopping for the Week - What I Bought

I'm still trying to stick to the Weight Watcher's Smart Points program during the week.  It's hard to do on the weekends, but during the week I'm watching my calories, fat and sugar.

So my strategy for the week is just whole foods: lean meats with loads of fresh fruits and veggies

The coleslaw and shredded lettuce is for fat free slaw that I will make and use with my dinners.
I am only consuming fat free dairy.  The eggs are for my tuna salad for my lunches.  The regular cheese is for my husband.
Tuna salad will be the main component for my lunches.  The lunch meat is for my husband.
No sugar added fruit is for my lunches
Sugar free dressings.  I love the Skinnygirl dressings.  They are low in calories and taste great.  The flavored coffee is a splurge but if it's good it will be worth the 60 calories.  I'll add fat free milk and ice.  It's my morning drink.  I drank the coconut water yesterday.  It's a weekend treat; so good.  The nuts are for my husba…

What I Ate This Week

I took tuna salad all week for my lunches.  The veggies changed slightly from day to day and I took a single serving fruit each day.
I love having this plain oatmeal with frozen blueberries and some peanut butter powder.  I tried this pre-cooked turkey bacon and it was terrible.
I baked some chicken breasts in marinara sauce on Sunday and had that for most of my dinners.  With that I had soba noodles and either cauliflower or brussel sprouts.

This is cheese toast with fat free cheese and ultra thin pepperoni
This is another version of my tuna salad plate.
This is that same chicken with soba noodles and sauce with brussel sprouts
One morning I made egg salad and did a wrap and had my iced coffee with it.
This is a ham sandwich with fat free cheese, thin ham and fat free ranch dressing
This morning I made this veggie omlette with ham and a dollop of fat free cream cheese

Shopping - What I've Bought Recently and My Thoughts

Maybelline Color Tattoo Leather Cream Eyeshadows in vintage plum and creamy beige.  I've had these before and got rid of them because I didn't use them.  I saw them and for some strange reason I thought it would be a good idea to try them again.  The colors are sheer but buildable.  I prefer the leather colors because they are matte.  I absolutely love the purple/mauvey/plum color; it makes my blue eyes pop.  Unfortunately, the beige looks muddy on me so I'm not going to keep it.  These are a good option for an all over shadow that look great and last all day.  I do wear a primer under them because they do tend to crease without one.

Revlon Matte Balm.  These are great.  I've been wearing them all week and I love all three.  They feel great and last for hours.  I do re-apply after lunch.  I live these because they aren't drying.  These colors are great for the summer.
